S X S W
Okay, I've only attended SXSW (south by southwest) one time and that was as a judge in an event that was a part of sxsw. So now I'm thinking..."I would like to go and see what else sxsw is all about", I know I'd like to catch some of the music and interactive/web stuff and maybe even check out a few films. I've been wanting to do this for years, ever since I learned of the festival. When I was actually AT the festival a few years ago I did not get to see any of the shows or participate in anything except for the thing I was there for (Sexiest Geek Alive pageant, 2002).
Anyway I just went to the site to try to sketch out a tentative plan to attend in March and I found out that the passes are very expensive. Am I missing something? Can we not just go and participate in anything for free or for an affordable price... maybe pay by show or something like that?? It seems like the answer is no, but it may just be that I have just not investigated thoroughly enough.
Regardless of whether or not it is just my laziness or if what I am suspecting is actually how it works, I am calling on any experienced sxsw'ers or anyone that has any knowledge about this to help me out here.
I wanna go.

I'd love to go too, I've never been, :)

Keep an eye on the donewaiting.com SXSW blog. It often has good info on bands and updated news.
