Feeling Marvinish and Having Cooties
Okay, well this is the week. This Friday HGttG (<-- that is what was decided, right? I think I still prefer H2G2) is coming out and apparently I am going alone. ::sniff::
After several failed attempts at trying to get some people together to go, I've come to realize that I apparently make everyone's Cootie-ometers just beep and blink like crazy.
.....stupid Cootie-ometers...always giving me away.
Does anyone know where I can pick up an ozone-friendly can of Cootie-Be-Gone??
Remember playing Cootie? I LOVED that game when I was a wee girl. Fun and cute.......how was I to know that one day I would find the Cootie at the root of my untimely demise???
Okay, well maybe not my demise , but still, I'm kinda bummed out nonetheless.
::laugh-snort:: (I wasn't awarded the esteemed title of DQ for nothing, you know).

Well, I am going to see the film for sure, but I don't do opening week for movies. In some cases, I wait until 2 or 3 weeks after opening day and see it in an empty theatre, myself or with my wife. I hate opening nights!! Of course, my 3 experiences with opening nights at films all ended in disaster, so I am partial to avoiding it if I can. Case in point, Jurassic Park 2: Opening night. After standing in line for what seemed like 10 hours, I found myself being trampled by 12-13 year old boys who were running full force down the hall to the theatre to get a good seat. I watched this unfold in disbelief, as people REALLY WERE getting trampled and none of the little bastards cared. I finally made it to the theatre, and found the only seat available, aisles away from my group....which was...get this....the first seat on the left of the screen, first row. Have you ever watched your TV set with your forehead touching the bottom left corner of it? Thats how I saw Jurassic Park 2. In other words, I didn't see it.
And thats just ONE opening night!!

Hmmmm....interesting thing to ponder. I very rarely go to the movies, and I honestly can't remember the last time I've ever been on an opening night....possibly never. It just seemed like the appropriate thing to do, you know??
But I see what you are saying. Maybe I'll just have to postpone my trip to go and see it until later. It just really seems like it would be a lot of fun to go and see it with at least a few other cool/geeky people that truly enjoyed the book - I've been anticipating it forEVER and I am just thinking it has to be fun even if the movie is totally divergent from the book. I'm kind of expecting that already anyway, but I am not one to have a meltdown about that.
Thanks for the comment, I'm feeling a little better about my alleged cootie problem now. :)

Wait a minute....you mean....that isn't how you watch TV??? - no wonder I don't like television, I haven't been viewing it properly!! tee-hee.
