See? This is why I never watch movies. A few days ago, just after I signed all of the contracts for MY new house, I watched Under the Tuscan Sun and realized that what I really want to do is move to Tuscany and live in a 300 year old villa.
NOW what am I supposed to do??
Just kidding. I love my new house.
AND I am now officially accepting any ideas for affordable (but groovy) home decor, furnishing, or appliance resources.
I am thinking of a name for my house as well. I don't see why we can't name our homes over here - they do it in Europe (and in other countries) all of the time.

My lady friend wants one of these ... maybe you could put it on your front door and be super high tech. After all, can you really call it a geek house if you don't have a thumbprint reader? :)

Awesome site GH, I have no idea how you ran across it as they apparently have no store in Houston, but it looks like some cool stuff. Grac!
As for the thumbprint reader...your lady friend sounds like my kind of chica. I had actually already started looking into these - but now that you've recommended the thumbprint reader, I'll go ahead and give those a looksee as well. :P
Fun!

There's no West Elm where I am either, but I got a print catalog from them some time back. I figured that some marketeer had sold my info to them, then I found out that they're owned by Williams-Sonoma, that would explain how I got on the list. They have a pretty strong Crate and Barrel vibe, which I guess is cool since Crate and Barrel doesn't have one so much anymore. I'm not sure that you'd like them, however, I don't believe they carry any black light posters or beer brand mirrors.
So, is there any reason that we can't call your new home The Love Grotto? Or is that too suggestive with the kids around?
I've got it -- I'll stencil Chuck E. Cheese Grotto on the back of the sign, you can flip it back and forth depending on what time of the day it is. Problem solved.

Yes, this room *was* in need of a ficus...welcome.
Okay, so what is up with the beer mirrors comment? Stop projecting. Just because little missy Ficus has a beer mirror addiction, doesn't mean we all do. Thankfully the beer mirrors have been permanently removed from my set of home decor items. I'd be upset about the black light posters comment as well, but, um......well black light posters really ARE cool. So make fun of me all you want, just don't expect to be invited to the Chuck E. Cheese Grotto any time soon.
........wait, no, that SO doesn't work.
..."Love Grotto"...psh - I wish.
I think I will have a poll when I come up with a few good contenders. K? k.
