Life Without The Big S.O.

I've been single for two years now, and I'd have to say that for the most part I don't think that I am typically a big whiner about it. That is most likely due to the fact that there are some pretty nice things about being single. However, there are also definitely those things that are very lame about being single, like...no free massages. You coupley-type people would never believe how much those little massages every now and then add up. My spine and my neck are all but completely rusted to the point of immobility. So much so, that I have a concern that when I actually *do* go and get the kinks worked out, it might just cause me to spontaneously melt into a puddle of geeky goo. Ick.

I know what you're saying...."But Jamie, what about exercise??" Hmm, good point. I guess there are just some things that Dance Dance Revolution can't do anything about. ::shrug::

The happy news, though, is that things are never as bad as they seem. I am going on a cruise in less than two weeks. It is a family cruise that my dad is taking everyone on - kids too. It has been planned for the better part of the year and for about the past three months I have SO been looking forward to it for one main reason: I am going to finally get a massage. They have a health spa. Up on deck 12. I am SO there. They may have trouble getting me out of there.

So if you haven't heard from me by about December 18 or so, you know where I'll be. What do you mean 'I shouldn't neglect my family the entire time we are on the cruise'? They all have their Big S.O.s - I'm the only singley-type in the bunch. And as for my kids, well...well ok, nevermind, kids are more important and fun than massages. But just barely!

Sometimes the anticipation of an event can be every bit as rewarding as the actual thing. Since you seem to have the anticipation part down, here's hoping you get some magic hands on your cruise.
