Portmanteau of the Day

Greetings and salutations glorious good blog readers, hi, how are ya, and even glad to see ya**.

The Portmanteau of the Day for Friday, April 7, 2006 is backronym.

Now let's use it in a sentence:

"Frustrated by the fact that every possible permutation of 2 and 3 character domain names had been taken, Isis (what? - I can name my fictional characters anything I want), in her haste to own her very own personalized piece of Cyberbia, resorted to grabbing the first 4 letter combo she could find and created a backronym for it so that people could remember it."

Isn't that great? Actually it sounds kind of fun. I might have to try this. There are reportedly ~97,786 combinations of four digits letters left.

Thanks to my friend SGG for the link.

**[this, ~well replace "blog readers" with "people" to be exact~ was an actual greeting delivered by one of the regular customers that came to the courtesy booth when I worked at Randalls a very long time ago. He said this exact same thing every time he came in]
